Winter in the mountains

It's been months since I last posted on the blog and you may have been wondering if I'd given up blogging.  I admit I have been a bit unmotivated lately.  But thankfully I was re-inspired by a trip to the Rockies a few weeks ago with my friends, Martha & Brian and Liz & Tuppy.  It's difficult to say which season is the most beautiful in the mountains.  Every season has a beauty all its own!

We spent the weekend in Banff, but drove out to Lake Louise on Saturday morning.  There was considerably more snow at Lake Louise than in Banff and the scenery was spectacular.  It was like being in a postcard!

All these photos are taken at Lake Louise.  Enjoy!

Stopping to admire the view

Yes, the sign says "Caution - thin ice"

A Canada goose that hadn't got the memo about flying south,
or maybe he just thought the scenery was too nice to leave

  1. You got some gorgeous pictures, I especially like the two with the bridge and the last one. It would be interesting to take pictures at the exact same spot every season.

    1. Thanks Sharon. That is a good idea. We'll have to do that the next time we're there. 😄

  2. Wow, Barb, these are beautiful. I'm so glad you take the time to get away to such beauty. So many things I pass up because I think there will alway be a next time, but you grab the opportunity and go and we get to share it with you :)

    1. Thanks Marilyn. You're right, we do need to seize those opportunities for beauty when we can!
